Nigel is a much respected graphics and user interface design professional,
working both in web and print. Nigel is one of the founders of creativelatitude.com,
a platform that unites various creative disciplines for collective
promotion, education and ethical business practice.
Working as the Senior Designer for the London office of US company
Interactive Bureau, Nigel provided design direction for learndirectscotland.com.
The site provides a source of information for people in Scotland
who wish to return to education or improve on their existing work
skills. Nigel designed the site's look and feel, defining its structure
and presenting vast quantities of content in an engaging and easy-to-use
layout.
Over the past year Nigel has designed two sites that have been
funded by NOF (New Opportunities Fund) - for the Royal Shakespeare
Company and the National Horseracing Museum.
For SCIP's Virtual Festival 2003 project Nigel revamped the Festival's
branding by making the existing logo more dynamic and modern. He
applied the new logo to a diverse array of designs for advertisements,
t-shirts, promotional flyers and - crucially - the Festival website.
Fellow volunteers Richard
Dallaway and Jane Dallaway implemented Nigel's design, and Tom
Hume from Future Platforms assisted on mobile blogging for the
site. Nigel devised the site's homepage strapline: "Getting Brighton
& Hove clicking together".
